Scherzo clarinet and guitar

This very short piece was written for my dear friend Gregory Dufford, former clarinetist with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra. It won First Prize in the Contemporary Recording Studio's National Composition Competition and Second Prize

in the American Composer's Guild Competition. It is published by Northeastern Music Publications.

Program Notes

Composed in 1978, Scherzo is written for the unusual but delightful combination of clarinet and guitar. It is brief in length, mischievous in character, and technically very difficult.

Listen to Gregory Dufford (clarinet) and Martin Rokeach (guitar) play Scherzo. Duration 2:45
